Before you apply, read this page. It will tell you honestly whether the Summer Sprint is the right move — and whether this is the right moment.
Most doctors who reach this page have been thinking about this for longer than they'd like to admit.
They are capable. Often over-qualified. They have ideas, interests, and an awareness that medicine alone is not going to give them the life they actually want.
But something keeps stopping them. It might be time. It might be uncertainty. It might be that they've never seen someone who looks like them, trained like them, and built something real on the other side of medicine.
The Summer Sprint is not a course. It is twelve weeks of structured implementation — with a doctor who has actually done this, and a small group of peers who are doing it alongside you.
By September, you will not still be thinking about it.
Summer Sprint is designed for doctors who are looking for
Most doctors arrive at the Summer Sprint carrying one of two things: a vague feeling that there must be more, or a specific idea they've never had the structure to act on. Twelve weeks later, the picture looks different.
She was an NHS doctor who felt capable of more but had no structure and low confidence in what she could offer outside medicine. She joined the programme uncertain, skeptical, and short on time.
Within five months she had doubled her income — landing a consulting role she hadn't known was available to her. The shift wasn't just financial. It was the realisation that her clinical skills had significant commercial value she had never been taught to see.
The money followed the clarity. The clarity came from the work.
She joined with an idea — help IMG doctors improve their communication skills for UK clinical practice. She had the knowledge. She had the empathy. She had no idea how to turn it into an offer people would pay for.
By the end of the programme she had structured an education business, identified her exact audience, and made her first sales. She had gone from idea to income — something she had been circling for years before finally committing to the work.
She did not need more information. She needed the right sequence and someone to hold her to it.
I lost someone close to me and the NHS did not give me the freedom to grieve properly. That was the day I decided the system would never own my life again.
I am a Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist, a BMJ Clinical Editor, and someone who has spent years building income, identity and freedom outside medicine — not because I wanted to leave, but because I refused to be dependent on a system that doesn't care about the individual.
I did not have a mentor who had done this before me. I had faith, stubbornness, and eventually a method. The Summer Sprint is that method — taught by someone who has lived it, not theorised it.
You already know it could. The question is whether you are going to give it a real chance — with structure, support, and twelve weeks of focused work — or keep arriving at the same crossroads next year.
The Summer Sprint cohort opens July 2026. Maximum 8 doctors. Applications reviewed personally by Dr Niks.
